Jordan West was born 1969 in Wyoming, United States. His formal studies were
in the fields of Evolutionary Social Psychology, Philosophy, and History at the
City University of New York-Hunter College. He is a self-taught artist. He was a
resident at the Stichting CrawlSpace Artist Residency in Amsterdam, Holland,
and has been awarded a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant.
He has exhibited with Thatcher Projects-NYC, Rossi Contemporary-Brussels,
Belgium, Gallery Sonja Roesch-Houston, Bruce Lurie Gallery-Los Angeles,
Pentimenti Gallery-Philadelphia, The Center for Contemporary Arts-Santa Fe,
and at Contemporary Art Fairs in Miami, San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles
and Houston.
His paintings are in several private collections and the public collection of the
West Collection at SEI Investments, Oaks Pennsylvania. His books are in the
collections of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Joan Flasch Artists' Book
Collection, the University of Rochester, Rush Rhees Art Library & Librarie
Florence Loewy, Paris.
He has also been commissioned to create several original Residential,
Architectural Designs for Private Clients, and has recently evolved his body of
work to incorporate Conceptual, 3-D Digital Environments, with full interactivity,
using video game software.
