Current: Mark Mulhern - Auspicious Times

GF Contemporary is pleased to present Auspicious Times, a new exhibition of paintings by Mark Mulhern, opening with an artist reception on Friday, October 9, from 5–7 PM. With Auspicious Times, Mulhern turns his attention toward the pleasures and peculiarities of being together. His paintings depict gatherings populated by elegantly dressed figures, shared meals, gardens, trees, and moments of quiet interaction. Familiar scenes become something more imaginative—part memory, part observation, and part theatrical stage.

The title Auspicious Times speaks to those occasions when life seems to align: when people come together, when a moment feels particularly alive, or when the ordinary takes on a sense of significance. Mulhern's paintings embrace these moments with humor, warmth, and a generous sense of possibility.
